Real Madrid’s last game of the season came to a fittingly miserable end on Sunday.
They chalked up their 12th La Liga defeat of the year, losing 2-0 to Real Betis at home of all places.
Conspicuous by his absence from the side was Gareth Bale. He and Zidane are not exactly the best of buddies and so he was left on the bench.
And Zidane ended the season with five wins, four losses and two draws.
Thats pretty hopeless for a club of Real Madrid’s stature even if there was nothing left to play for at the end.
There was pride right ?
Bale is okay.His pride might have taken a bit of a knocking but there are plenty of clubs lining up to sign up a player of his calibre.
Zidane is left also left with wounded pride and the monumental task of rebuilding morale.
