Ivan Kaviedes- Ecuador's 1998 Golden boy

The 23 man roster includes Ivan Hurtado, Ecuador's veteran defender and captain. He has played 125 caps and is known for his vocal leadership. Other notables include Aston Villa right back, Ulises de la Cruz and Ivan Kaviedes, of Argentinos Juniors, who is considered as Ecuador's golden boy with his lethal striking abilities but also perennial underachieving as seen in unsuccessful stints with Perugia, Celta Vigo, and Crystal Palace before returning to Ecuador.

Ecuador faces Costa Rica, Poland, and hosts Germany in group A.

Ecuador 23 man squad:

Goalkeepers: Edwin Villafuerte (Deportivo Quito), Cristian Mora (Liga Deportiva Universitaria), Damian Lanza (Aucas)

Defenders: Ivan Hurtado (Al Arabi), Giovanny Espinoza, Paul Ambrossi, Neicer Reasco (all Liga Deportiva Universitaria), Ulises de la Cruz (Aston Villa), Jorge Guagua (El Nacional), Jose Luis Perlaza (Olmedo);

Midfielders: Marlon Ayovi, Luis Fernando Saritama (both Deportivo Quito), Edwin Tenorio (Barcelona), Edison Mendez, Patricio Urrutia (both Liga Deportiva Universitaria), Cristian Lara, Segundo Castillo (both El Nacional), Luis Antonio Valencia (Recreativo Huelva)

Strikers: Felix Borja, Cristian Benitez (both El Nacional), Ivan Kaviedes (Argentinos Juniors), Agustin Delgado (Liga Deportiva Universitaria), Carlos Tenorio (Al Saad).

Hello Ivan: (Hurtado)
I met you in Bunshe when our squad from Jatun Sacha (Congal/Esmeraldas)went there for some dancing. I am from Canada. I hope you recover from your injury soon. I am so proud of you for helping out some of the homeless children and for donating 300 beds. Best of luck and please feel free to email. I know there is an English/Spanish language barrier but we should be able to manage.
