REAL Madrid's Italian defender Fabio Cannavaro blamed his side's fitness levels following their surprise 2-0 defeat to Olympique Lyon in the Champions League on Wednesday night. For Cannavaro it was a poor Champions League debut for Madrid which coincidentally coincided with his 33rd birthday in the "year of his life"
“The World Cup has drained a bit of energy,” he said, “and I can see that in a lot of my teammates. It was quite an exhausting experience, both physically and mentally.”
