Aldo Simoncini is the hapless San Marino goalkeeper who let in 13 goals in the Euro qualifier against Germany on wednesday.
Perhaps he has given European football 13 reasons to consider whether anyone benefits from the pretence of competition provided by these mis-matches between teams that differ so vastly in skill and competence.
