Gino Pariani a member of the 1950 World Cup US team that shocked England, 1-0 passed away last Wednesday. He and his team mates were part of a vastly under-rated US team that defeated a powerful English team that boasted players like Sir Alf Ramsey and Tom Finney. He was part of a group of players, five of them, from St. Louis in that squad.

Pariani and his team mates were made famous in the 2005 movie The Game of their Lives, which follows the 1950 US team.
