Video: A closer look at Anderson Abreu

Sir Alex prepares for the post Ryan Giggs era with the transfer of starlet Anderson Abreu from FC Porto. Can anyone take over Giggs??!! Maybe Sir Alex and Carlos Queiroz have seen something of Giggs in Anderson. In open play, Anderson has blazing speed down the left and the requisite Brazilian ball skills. He also shows promise with a dead ball. But it remains to be seen whether he will develop the exceptional soccer brain which set apart Giggs. And here is the video on Nani of Sporting Lisbon sleighted to take over Paul Scholes. Nani has an athletic goal celebration akin to that of Obafemi Martins. However, I am less impressed by him. To be fair the videos on him don't have much.

how has nani been signed to replace scholes? the only way they are similar is they are both right footed. nani has been signed to play down the left to take over from giggs & anderson is seen more as a replacement for scholes. i think hes the best all round player iv seen at that age, his passing and dribbling is awesome, hes lightning fast & strong & unlike a lot of brazilian players he doesnt mind getting stuck in, even against steven gerrard. fergie has found a gem of a player & i think he will go on to be one of the best ever, in the time hes been at old trafford hes alredy become popular with the fans & hes definitely 1 of my favorites. anderson the king!

Anderson is not a winger. He plays with the left foot but he is a classic number 10. All the game passes through him. Though he played several matches in the left in Porto.
He has to improve his defensive skills but he is a awsome awsome, really awsome player. Seeing in play seems that everything is easy. I don't remember seeing a player with such a high percentage of keeping the ball in one-to-one duels in the middle field. In my opinion scholes is going to defend a little more and carrick or fletcher will sit on the bench. He as also great phisical power despite is age.
