The Emirates Cup: Arsenal’s new signings to get a first good look

Good news for those who want to see Eduardo Da Silva aka Dudu and Bacary Sagna, Arsenal’s new signings in action. Wenger has promised that both of them will get sustained minutes in the Emirates Cup starting 28th July. The Gunners will play Inter, Valencia, and PSG for the Emirates title. This promises to be a great tournament because Inter is back with Patrick Vieira and Valencia has ex-Gunner Edu. Inter was the Serie champions while Valencia finished fourth in the Liga. So this is a good test for Arsenal in their post Henry days. Question marks are the thin talent in wing play and the continued absence of a quality left back.
Lukacz Fabianksi should also get a look in and with his challenge thrown down at Jens Lehmann of making the first squad, sooner than later, the former Legia Warsaw will be watched closely. Nicklas Bendtner, the tall Danish striker should also be on display after having a fantastic loan season at Birmingham City where he helped them to the Premiership.
Arsenal also plays in the Amsterdam Cup that will pit them against Ajax and Roma before their first Premiership fixture against Fulham. So there is plenty of opportunities to see Da Silva, Sagna, Fabianski, and Bendtner.
There is talk of making Cesc Fabregas the captain and Arseblog explains why this is not a good idea. Jokes aside, Gilberto Silva should be captain with his experience and his solid presence in the midfield. Mathieu Flamini has agreed to another year at Arsenal and this is good news because he was a hardworking and busy midfielder with some key goals during the absence of Titi Henry. Wenger is also very confident that Freddie Ljungberg will suit up as a Gunner in the new season.
The new away kits are so campy and the only hope is that they shock the opposing teams into giving away silly goals. For the kit we have to thank Herbert Chapman.
Arsenal is at present playing Turkish club Genclerbirligi (there I hope I got it right) in Austria.
