Defending champions Egypt meets Burundi this weekend in a Africa Cup of Nations qualifier. A win will see them enter the 2008 ACN. Their squad has been bolstered by Mido's selection whose recent Boro transfer has seen a return in form. Mohamad Zidan of Hamburg will partner him up front. Bot strikers have had previous problems with manager Hassan Shehata which appear to have been resolved.

Anderlecht midfielder Ahmed Hassan is in line for a 129th cap, making him the second most capped African international of all time.

Egypt should have no problems with Burundi having won, 4-1 in their last encounter but the Pharoahs have dropped points to Mauritania and Botswana hinting that Mohamad Aboutrika, their best playmaker has not been having the impact that he has had in the past. Botswana who lie second in Group B also have a good chance of qualifying as one of the two best placed teams.
