We are at the halfway stage of the Premier League season but there seems to be a serious dearth of contenders for footballer of the year? Nicolas Anelka, Ashley Young and Brad Friedel seem to be shining the brightest.Ronaldo,Rooney,Berbatov,Robinho,Adebayor ,Robin van Persie, Torres etc have only been glowing fitfully for most of the season so far.The deadly Drogba is casting a pale shadow of himself.So why are the stars so dim ?
