The drought is finally over.

The first dedicated soccer stadium in MLS history, Crew stadium turned 10 years old and celebrated the historical landmark in fine style as the title holders won their first game of the season in front of raucous fans. Veteran Frankie Hejduk was a standout. But before the final whistle blew they had many heart stopping moments as a resilient Wizards would not fold.

In the end Eddie Gaven's goal proved to be the difference.

The first goal that put Crew up would have made Barca proud as there were at least five first touches that led to the Emmanuel Ekpo goal.
