Burnley manager’s head is on a plate..

pie.jpgMore than his head actually. He’s got a bust of himself made out of pastry.Baxenden-based Holland Pies pulled out of its partnership with Burnley when the team had a run of bad luck, early in the season. But just to show that there’s no hard feelings they have commissioned a pastry bust of Burnley manager Owen Coyle – to congratulate them on their promotion to the premier league.
Brendan Flood, director at Burnley FC, had this guarded comment to make about losing the pie sponsorship : “It’s probably a face-saving thing for Burnley though, that when we’re in the Premier League we don’t have a pie-producer on the front of our shirts.”.Burnley have made it back to the big league after a gap of 33 years.Their new sponsors are a fuel company called Samuel Cooke and fuel is a less funny thing to have on your shirt [or your face] than a pie.
