The two players with Arsenal connections, Freddie Ljungberg and Steve Zakuani came back with solid performances in Seattle's win over San Jose. Zakuani in particular is a real threat on the left with his speed, anticipation, and whipped crosses. The team came close with some near misses with an alert Joe Cannon making a great save of Fredy Montero after Zakuani had carved up the defense. Ljungberg's goal came after he cleverly held back a fraction, releasing his chip when Cannon had made his move. His corner kick led to the Fredy Montero goal in the second goal.

The win was the first after 5 draws and a loss and moves Seattle into third position in the Western division.
