A comeback like this can build belief which seems to be in short supply at Goodison Park nowadays. Louis Saha had a great game off the bench and Tim Cahill once again proved a big time goal scorer. Saha almost pulled off goal of the year with a bicycle kick. 21 year old Seamus Coleman a £150,000 summer arrival from Irish side Sligo Rovers had a hand in both goals.

But first it was Defoe and Aaron Lennon (Capello can stop looking for someone else) sparkling for the Spurs. They are building a great partnership, these two little men.

It was left to Tim Howard to provide the most dramatic moment of the match as he stopped Defoe's penalty at the end of extra time to preserve Everton's remarkable turnaround.

Spurs are now fourth, in contention for a CL spot while Everton move up to 15th in the league table.
