It’s over: Mueller makes it 4-1 for Germany!

Two great counter attacks by Germany with most of England camped in the opponent’s half. This match is over.
Thomas Mueller’s puts on a pile driver. James gets a touch but there is nothing he can do stop or deflect that shot.
Minutes later another England attack fizzles out and Oezil is sent scampering down the left. He cuts the ball across to the arriving Mueller to score again.
Thomas Mueller might be following in the the footsteps of his incomparable namesake, Gerd Mueller!
Fabio Capello looks like he knows he may not last long as England’s coach. Shambolic all around.
Wayne Rooney has been shadow of himself throughout this World Cup. Actually for sometime now. How much did he lose with his ankle injury? He may not be the same force for Man Utd. Has Sir Alex considered that possibility?

  1. I have not understood why England is named alongside Brazil, Argentina, Italy and Germany before every world cup. They are at best a team to reach the round of 16, nothing more than that.
I think their attacking tactics was based on too much confidence (created obviously by British media as they always define the “world” view for the public, even Indian media buys that view) and too little respect for the German abilities.
I personally never liked English style of football, I think they are a good riddance. Better teams will get through to the semifinals, not the incapable lions (born in zoo ? I mean there are no wild lions in England, right ?).
And about the US team, Bob Bradley failed to get the right players for a few positions (Roberto Clark, Steve, Findley). Bob should have matched them with world cup (quarter final level) standards. Otherwise the team was pretty good and had fair chances. When I saw Clark and Findley in the starting lineup, I was surprised, I guess, a lot of people were surprised, that was a huge mistake.
