No quibbles with this choice. Diego Forlan was the best player this World Cup- that free kick against Ghana will be hard to forget.

" I'm enjoying it and I'm delighted, but I'm very aware that it's the result of the spectacular tournament the team has had. It's another reward for this positive period for Uruguayan football."

Spoken like a true champion.

Diego Forlan -
congratulations on winning the golden ball
prize. I enjoyed the World Soccer games you
played in.
If you were a rugby player, you would be
as good a kicker as Morne Steyn - from our South African Springbok Rugby Team.

Well done !

A South African Fan

Totally agree with Fifa's choice for once. Forlan is a rare blend of talent, work, abnegation and humility. Hat down to him. Watch out for the new generation of Uruguayan players like Godin, Suarez and Caceres.

he remain the best in the world cup i will appreciate if he can speak to me i came to this page because i have told my brother that if you are not elected then Fifa is wrong , your last goal again Germany was another story to count on , are you a God of football?try to make sure u write me , i really like u
