Lionel Messi took 17 minutes to score a hat trick against Real Mallorca. His timing was marginally slower than Ronaldo's who took about 15 minutes to score his hat trick against Malaga last week.
However it was Messi's13th career hat trick.C Ron's tally stands at 11 so that time factor is not such a big deal. He still has two more hat tricks to go before they are all square.
It is good for Messi to be back among the goals at a time when Pele has been saying unkind things about his head. It also ends a 3 game goal drought for him.
Barcelona won the game 5 - 0 and are in second position behind Real Madrid.
