More grief for Wolves as Man Utd crush them, 5-0

Mick McCarthy is probably wondering why he was let go. Wolves are now dead last with a far worse goal differential than both Wigan and QPR who also share the same point total. Terry Connor's job to extricate Wolves out of relegation just became impossible. He was made manager when Wolves were in 18th position and in his first match they managed to battle Newcastle, 2-2. In the three matches since, they have lost all three, conceded 12 goals and scored none.

At the other end, Utd just keep rolling on. With the 5-0 win, Utd now extend their lead over City to 4 points and equally importantly they narrow their goal differential.

Lets say this, Antonio Valencia should be competing strongly for Utd's player of the year. Now that is speed combined with football intelligence. Jonny Evans got Utd's parade started, Valencia got the second finishing off a surging run, supplied the service to Welbeck for the third, Chicharito and his telescopic head got the fourth from a Rafael cross, and then Valencia slalomed his way through the right to chip the ball for the aforesaid Chicharito and his aforesaid telescopic head to finish off Wolves.
