The Netherlands were gylfi, very gylfi of giving the ball away cheaply. The Swansea midfielder played a part in their downfall with a sweetly struck PK and then smashed a volley into the top of the goal. Hopefully this time Kevin Phillips won’t have to twist his tongue around to pronounce his name.

The Netherlands registered their second loss and trail Group A behind the Czech Republic and Iceland both unbeaten with three wins. Iceland also have not conceded a single goal. Very impressive. Not so impressed Guus Hiddink.
