Ruben Loftus Cheek gave Roman Abramovich something to be cheerful about at long last.
He scored a decisive goal against lowly Scunthorpe United to ensure that Chelsea progress to the next round in the FA cup.
After all the gloom and doom surrounding Mourinho’s exit Roman Abramovich will be happy to see a player from the Stamford Bridge Youth Project to make good at the senior level.
Chelsea were 1-0 up against a Scunthorpe United team that were not giving up the fight and were also denied a pretty decent penalty shout when Ramires tripped Kevin van Veen.
However Ruben Loftus-Cheek scored the decisive second goal after 68 minutes and ensured that Chelsea would be in the draw for the FA Cup fourth round.
