Anthony Martial scored a stoppage-time winner to take United to their first FA Cup final since 2007 with a 2-1 win over Everton.
All the goals were scored by Man United players – Marouane Fellaini sent them into the lead,Chris Smalling equalised for Everton with an own goal and then Martial took them home with the winner.
Ageing warhorse Rooney has come in for praise for playing a stellar role in midfield though it might be pushing things a bit to start comparing him to Andrea Pirlo already.
The game was marred by brawling between the rival supporters before the game.
