Sunderland went one-point clear of the relegation zone with two games left to play this season after a thrilling 3 -2 win over Chelsea.Diego Costa put Chelsea in front after 14 minutes.Wahbi Khazri equalised 5 minutes from half time but Sunderland were down one goal again when Nemanja Matic scored before the half ended.
Fabio Borini then equalised in the 67th minute and Jermain Defoe’s instinctive and incisive finish settled an enthralling game.
Sunderland are one win away from avoiding the drop.
