Real Madrid left it to the last two minutes to win their opening game of the CL season against Sporting Lisbon.
Sporting took the lead through a low shot from Bruno Cesar but Cristiano Ronaldo equalised in the 89th minute with a superb long-range free-kick. Alvaro Morata then won it with a stoppage-time header.
Incidentally Ronaldo did not celebrate after his free kick goal.That’s because he used to play for Sporting Lisbon before he left for Manchester United – and in memory of those days when he was a fledgling – he sportingly declined to celebrate.
