Chelsea demolished Middlesbrough 3 – 0 and now are just one win away from the title.And while Chelsea ascend to the dizzying heights poor old Middlesbrough are headed off to the depressing depths at the other end of the spectrum.They are now officially relegated to the Championship level.
There were two hattricks in yesterday’s game.Cesc Fabregas assisted in each of the goals – supplying the pass that led to the goals scored by Costa,Alonso and Matic.
The other one belongs to the unfortunate Brad Guzan.Each of the above mentioned goals went through between his legs.For a goalie to be nutmegged once in a game is bad.Three times in a game in which your team ended up getting relegated will be a pretty dismal memory for him. Conte on the other hand will have happy memories.He will be thinking of Champagne and celebration.He’s almost there now.At the end of the game he went across and applauded the Middlesbrough supporters as they were leaving- which was a pretty decent thing to do.
