Spain have to play tiny Liechtenstein next week next.Then they have a home game against Albania and an away game against Israel in October.
As only the top team of each of the 9 groups goes through directly to Russia Italy will hope that they lose one of those games if they are to avoid the playoffs.The eight best ranked second teams go into the play offs.
