Midfielder Jeakson Thounaojam became the first indian to ever score in a FIFA World Cup Tournament.India were defeated 2 -1 by Columbia but for a little while there in the middle of the match it was anybody’s game.Columbia scored first but India equalised in the 82nd minute.9 minutes more would have given them their first ever draw in a FIFA tournament.But it was not to be.Columbia scored again a minute later breaking about a billion hearts in the process.
The consolation is that they played really well and Jeakson made a bit of history.
