Sep who was a septuagenarian about 20 years ago has now moved on a good bit from there. He hits 90 today and is still going strong.He has been pretty vocal for a while,in his criticism of his successor Infantino.
He lamented the over commercialisation of FIFA by comparing it to a lemon. Infantino,he said,was trying to “squeeze more and more out of the lemon,”
He bemoaned the expansion of the World Cup to 48 teams and the creation of a larger Club World Cup, saying these changes inflate tournaments and create too many competitions.
Infantino has been coseying up to too much to Trump which Blatter rightly objected to quite strongly.
On his 90th birthday he however chose to give an interview which was mostly not about Infantino.
Blatter was once described as a man who had 50 ideas in a day out of which 51 were bad !
His doctor has told him that he would live to be a 100 at least – so Blatter can live in the joyful hope that some of those incredible ideas ( which have not yet been taken up) would surely get followed up by then.
