Brazil in blue fall short

The colours were all wrong. France wore white and Brazil wore blue. Brazil might have done better in their traditional yellow.

Played as part of the “Road to 26” buildup, the clash had all the intensity of a tournament match. And it was Kylian Mbappé who once again rose to the occasion. With a moment of brilliance, he opened the scoring in the first half, powering past the Brazilian defense at super uncatchable speed. w

France doubled their advantage through Hugo Ekitike, capitalizing on quick transitions that exposed Brazil’s defensive frailties. A red card to Dayot Upamecano early in the second half didn’t help Brazil much. They lost 2-1 even though France were playing with 9 for the rest of the game.

The crowd wept for the missing Neymar – but Ancelotti remains unmoved.
