A 2-1 defeat against Mallorca followed by a 1–1 draw against Girona has left Real Madrid trailing Barcelona by nine points with only a handful of games remaining.Barcelona are romping towards their 29th La Liga title. Real will have to be content with telling themselves that they have won it 36 times so Barca need to win it another 7 times to actually catch up with them.

Injuries have also played a major role. Key players like Jude Bellingham and Rodrygo have missed significant time, disrupting rhythm and balance, while others have struggled for consistency.
Real Madrid’s title challenge isn’t collapsing dramatically. Its fading away like a slow sunset ….of missed chances, over-reliance on individuals, and ,most significantly,a dismaying lack of collective sharpness when it mattered most.
Alvaro Arbeloa is probably getting the boot. Who’s next ? Klopp !!
