Haaland’s buzz cut powers

At the very first kick-off of the season, Haaland fans witnessed the Viking with a buzz cut. It made him look a bit like Brad Pitt and bit like Haaland with really short hair. The question on everyone’s mind was …: Had Manchester City’s goal machine just committed football’s version of Samson’s greatest mistake?

Turns out that maybe all that hair was just actually slowing him down.Losing 2kg of hair has made him quicker and sharper.

Haaland scored against Manchester United in City’s 1–0 derby victory on September 13, and continued finding the net against Sunderland, Liverpool and Ipswich Town. By October 24, he had scored nine Premier League goals in eight appearances, according to Opta Analyst’s statistics. Haaland has scored 13 goals in the 10 matches so far.

And somewhere in Manchester, a certain United supporter who has been growing his hair until the club wins five consecutive matches might be looking at Haaland with a mixture of admiration and despair. The Norwegian completed his own haircut challenge after City’s five-match winning streak, while the United fan’s wait continues. (LP)
