After a season of much misery the luck seems to be turning at last. A terrific 3-2 comeback against Roma after being 2-0 down is not we have been expecting of Man Utd of late. But that is exactly what they did.Wow.
Matheus Cunha, scorer of a brace and the winning goal, spoiled it a bit by getting sent off by getting two yellow cards. The first one was understandable. He took off his shirt to celebrate the miraculous second goal. The second one was needless – a bad tackle during injury time.
The win means that United are no longer in free fall.Carrick, who of late had been screaming things like “mayday, mayday” and “Houston we have a problem” can stop screaming for a bit. Manchester United seem to have stabilised their flight path and are no longer trying to nose dive into oblivion. Maybe this will be the turning point and he will go on to become the manager that United have been searching for since they lost Ferguson.Or maybe he wont. This is how things have worked out for all the post Fergie managers so far.
