Why we love transfer season: The rumours

Sometimes this stuff is even better than the matches. Just google Arsene Wenger and you will find that he has come up with a secret plot to sell off Cesc Fabregas to Real. He was in Spain supposedly meeting up with Cesc’s agent. He is also planning a backroom deal where Fernando Torres comes to the Emirates in exchange for Ljungberg and Hleb. And gimpy Michael Owen and Obafemi Martins are on Wenger’s shopping list. It would be fantastic having another season where Owen can join Henry and Van Persie in a hot tub nursing their knee and groin injuries. And of course, Wenger’s departure and Henry’s transfer to Barca or Inter are staple fare by now.
A lot of the locus seems to be Patrick Vieira, perennial prestidigitator, who probably has little to do this summer since Inter won the title more than a month ago and is now out of the France squad with a knee injury which requires surgery. Yep, so expect to hear more from Vieira. His mouth will be busy.

LOL!! You had me giggling with this image.
A lot of the Arsenal blogs are busy laughing at all these crazy rumours in the Spanish press (Marca is the main source) about Wenger meeting with Cesc’s agent=Wenger selling Cesc=Wenger going with Cesc to Spain=yadayadayada. However, one thing does seem confirmed finally: Baptista is going back to Spain. I say this with no joy because I really really really wanted him to succeed in the Prem. But he’s too expensive and he just didn’t cut it. 🙁
