Gooch to Milan: Pay for two, get one free

News that rarely hears in these days of million dollar player salaries.
Oguchi Onyewu whose patellar tendon injury resulted in only one appearance for the Rossoneri has asked for a extension of a year following the two year contract he signed with the club. He has said he will play that additional time for free. Milan has accepted and acknowledged his gesture:
“Onyewu has requested and obtained a contract extension from 30 June 2012 until 30 June 2013. With respect to that year, as was his wish, which has been appreciated by the club, Onyewu has asked not to receive any type of wages. This is an exemplary gesture that deserves our sincere congratulations.”
Good for him.
