For those familiar with The Daily Show, the British comedian, John Oliver is a constant presence filing reports from the ground. Well, he is a Liverpool fan (there are still some left??) and a supporter of the Three Lions.
He is presently in SA on assignment and visited the US team before their opening match against England. The report will air in Thursday’s episode of The Daily Show and as Oliver points out it turned out to quite colourful:
“It was a free exchange of opinions as to how the England game would go,” Oliver said. “You can probably imagine how that degenerated.”
An England loss?
“It would be a disaster in England,” he said. “You can’t even comprehend how bad it would be. It would be even worse to lose to a country that doesn’t care about it anyway.”
So look out for The Daily Show on Thursday for a free wheeling exchange between Oliver and the US team.
