A historic event: Udinese shocks Juve in first home opener loss for the Bianconeri

No Carlos Teves, Andrea Pirlo, or Arturo Vidal. Juve’s saviour is apparently Juan Cuadrado. The Old Lady stumbled against Udinese with the Friulian side scoring on a 78th minute Cyril Thereau strike against the run of play. This was history in the making. For the first time, Juventus had failed to win their opener at home and in another first, held goalless too. As Paolo Bandini points out, this season could turn out to be the most open ended Serie in recent times.

And it wasn’t just Juve looking vulnerable, Milan and Napoli lost while Roma fought to a dreary draw against Verona.
