Portugal have sadly crashed out of the U21 Euro competions – losing out by a one goal margin.They beat Macedonia 4 – 2 in their last group stage game but it wasn’t good enough.The best team from the three second placed teams in the three groups qualifies for the next round and Portugal – though equal on points with Slovakia – have a worse goal difference.
One more goal against Macedonia would have been enough to take them through to the semis.
Spain,England and Germany are the other three qualifiers.
