Messi,after scoring 37 goals in 34 games this season,picked up his fourth Pichichi trophy.
His previous wins for top scorer were in the 2009-2010, 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 seasons where he had scored 34, 50 and 45 goals respectively.He has joined some other La Liga legends of the past – equal now with Ferenc Puskás( four Pichichis).Alfredo Di Stéfano, Enrique Castro, and Hugo Sánchez are still ahead – all five time winners and Telmo Zarra has the all time record of six Pichichis.
He also picked up Marca’s award for the best player in La Liga in 2016-17.
Iniesta won the Spain’s most valuable player award.
