This is a totally brilliant bit of brilliance from Rooney.
Orlando Pirates and DC United were tied at 2 goals each in the 96th minute of the game.The United goalie was up in the other half joining the hunt for a winning goal in the dying seconds of the game.
The Pirates gained possesion of the ball and all they had to do was take the ball back to other half and score into an empty unguarded net.
But Rooney chased the opponent down into his own half,won the ball back with a slide tackle and then sent a pin point pass back upfield for Luciano Acosta to score the winning goal for United.
This is the stuff of legends ..
