Wolves keep City at bay

w m
Manchester City were a bit off form yesterday and Wolverhampton on the other hand played with the ferocity of a wolf pack. Not biting and snarling but doing other stuff that wolf packs do – circling and snapping and charging and not giving the opponent a moment’s peace etc. They played with tremendous energy and belief, and with courage and cohesion.
They had more than their fare share of luck though.Willy Boly’s goal for Wolves was both offside and and a hand ball – and the ref missed both and allowed it to stand. The goalposts came in the way of three City shots at goal.
But even after all that City were not as slick as usual and the 1 – 1 draw was greeted by the home crowd with so much cheering and (wolf)whistling at the final whistle that you would have thought that they had just won the World Cup.
Pep has some pondering to do to figure out what went wrong.
