Messi scores a Paneka free kick

Messi creates history again by creating a new kind of free kick.
Antonin Paneka created history in 1976 when he became the first person in recorded history to score a lobbed penalty in the finals of the finals of the European Championships between Germany and (what was then known as)Czechoslovakia.
That particular kind of free kick was henceforth called a “Paneka”in his honour.

Messi took the Paneka one step further by scoring a free kick using the same technique against Espanyol yesterday.

So,if history is going to repeat itself, the powers that be are going to name this free kick after Messi.
Messineka,Panemessi,Messipan…. The permutations are going to keep them busy for a while.
In the meantime we can enjoy looking at a genius at play.
