Zidane,who was facing a bit of a crisis after Madrid’s woeful performance in the Champion’s League,would have taken great comfort from the 3 – 1 El Clasico win.
The first El Clasico ever played in front of empty stands gave Real a 6 point lead over their bitter rivals.
The two teams are more or less both in different stages of decline- both nowhere near the power houses that they once were.
But they produced a pretty good game anyway – even though there was no one to cheer them on.
Messi hasn’t scored a decent goal in 6 games and this is more evidence of Barca’s impending demise.
