North Macedonia,I have just discovered,is a country that lies north of Greece.
There is no country called South Macedonia.
Macedonia was renamed North Macedonia on the 12th of Feb 2019 because of people getting all muddled up by ambiguity in nomenclature between the Republic of Macedonia, the adjacent Greek region of Macedonia and the ancient Greek kingdom of Macedon.
So now you know.
And they went and beat Germany 2-1.
