A referee dressed up as Darth Vader is giving a very clear message from the Empire( UEFA) to the rebels (Super League)

The Star Wars comparision gets a bit blurred when we realise that this time around the Empire is probably made up of the good guys and the rebels are the chaps who are trying to sell the beautiful game for (more*) money.
* = Super League teams would get $400+ million each just for participating, a sum more than 4x what they’d earn from winning the Champions League.
