High drama in CONCACAF Nations League Final

United States v Mexico: Championship - CONCACAF Nations League Finals
The U.S. men’s national team beat Mexico 3-2 in the first-ever CONCACAF Nations League final in a game that was definitely not for the faint hearted.
Christian Pulisic scored a penalty in the 114th-minute and this eventually turned out to be the winning goal because Ethan Horvath saved saved one at the other end in the 120th minute.
USA got their first football trophy since the 2017 Gold Cup.
Things seem to be looking up at last.
However it was not all easy going,USA were down 1-0 within the first couple of minutes because of this defensive blunder …..

They came back just before half time thanks to his equaliser from Gio Reyna, who pounced on a loose ball following a Weston McKennie header that bounced off the post.

Mexico’s Deigo Lainez scored the best goal of the game in the second half – absolutely brilliant..

However McKennie used his head again and USA got their equaliser just 3 minutes later.

Christian Pulisic scored this penalty well into injury time. However the game was not done yet.The final twist in the tale was yet to come.

Andres Guardado produced the final bit of drama by missing a penalty in the 120th.It will be a while before he will be able to forget that.
Then,at last, the fat lady was able to sing..
