The La Liga has been a two horse race for most of its history with either Barcelona or Real Madrid pipping the other at the post every now and then.In the 20 years that have gone by in the current century Valencia have won twice and Atletico Madrid have won once- all the other titles have been shared by either Real Madrid or Barcelona (10 to Barcelona and 7 to Real Madrid)
But Barcelona is now in crisis-they are languishing at 8th place in the table and in a real mess.
Real Madrid on the other hand have claimed top spot in the table after a 6-1 win over Mallorca ( which included a hat trick by Marco Asensio)
It’s no longer a two horse race because one of the horses is hors-de -combat and many of the other horses are looking really good.
