The greatest game between Germany and Italy was played on the 17th of June 1970- semifinal of the world cup in Mexico, and it’s gone down in history as “the game of the century”
The game went to extra time and saw a never repeated feat of 5 goals being scored in extra time.

Over the aeons the two teams have won eight World Cups (four each) and made a total of fourteen appearances in the final (eight for Germany and six for Italy).
Thats more than all the other European nations combined.
Germany has also won three European Championships while Italy has won it once. The two countries have faced each other four times in the European championship, with three draws (one German penalty shoot-out victory) and one Italian victory.
So after all that amazing history this latest game in the UEFA nation’s league was quite a humdrum affair which ended in a 1-1 draw.
Legends no longer walk the earth as far as Germany and Italy are concerned..
