Jim Ratcliffe is amongst the front runners to buy out Man Utd

Cristiano Ronaldo leaves. The Glazers put the club up for sale. Coincidence? They probably realized just selling jerseys wasn’t going to cut it. Under them Man Utd was a branding and merchandising enterprise and needed a way back to a serious football side. Eric Ten Haag is the right man to lead this transformation. The stock price has risen a massive 68% since the sale announcement.

Jim Ratcliffe, one of England’s richest men, and vocal Brexiter who decamped to Monaco to save taxes, is one mentioned in the short list running to buy Man Utd. He already owns a number of sports clubs and enterprises. Ratcliffe supported Brexit but that doesn’t mean he supports the UK. He’s building cars in France because as a billionaire you privatize profits, socialize losses. Sounds like a lovely man. But as a Man Utd fan, he might do the right thing.

More importantly, Roy Keane is on board for the sale.
