Canada soccer on the verge on bankruptcy

Canada’s senior national teams may not play be able to play anymore as their finances are in a very precarious position . This from i interim general secretary Jason deVos said in an interview with TSN.

We are in a real struggle. It’s not imminent, but we need to explore what bankruptcy entails and how it might affect our organization.We don’t have enough revenue coming in for the programs that need to be run, and that includes everything from grassroots coach education and referee development to youth national teams and our senior men’s and women’s teams.”

For now the Canadian national team is still playing. Their game against Guadeloupe in the CONCACAF Gold Cup went all the way down to the wire with Guadeloupe managing a last gasp (own goal)equaliser in the 93rd minute of the game.
