A hat trick of sackings

Erik ten Hag, José Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjær have all been given the boot. Erik Ten Hag only managed to be in charge of Bayer Leverkusen for two games before getting his marching orders. That must be some kind of a record.

Fenerbahce sacked Jose Mourinho, two days after elimination from the Champions League playoffs by Benfica. In the 15 months or so that he was in charge he led the club through 62 matches, earning 37 wins, 14 draws, and 11 losses.

His quest for silverware was bootless. Fenerbahce exited the Turkish Cup in the quarter-finals, Europa League in the round of 16, and failed to qualify for the Champions League after that playoff loss to Benfica. The most memorable moment of his stint in charge was when he pinched the nose of Galatasaray’s coach Okan Buruk. Like Ten Hag ,Mourinho was only allowed to manage two games of the new season before getting the boot.

Besiktas made Ole Gunnar join the ranks of the unemployed after being defeated in the Conference League play-offs. This despite the fact that he had made a very impressive start and also achieved the highest points-per-game average by a Beşiktaş coach since the 1959–60 era under András Kuttik. So that was a harsh red card he got.

And now we have three out of work coaches at the moment. One of them is greater than the other two but all are equally jobless.
