The last time Argentina were defending their World Cup title they lost their opening game.Back in 2022, they suffered one of the greatest upsets in World Cup history by losing their opening game 2-1 to Saudi Arabia.
Messi has more than made up for that by starting off Argentina’s World Cup Title defence by scoring all three goals in the 3-0 win over Algeria.
