A horrifying thought – is the Trionda a reincarnation of the dreaded ( worst of the worst, the most hated and cursed) Jabulani ?

Why the Trionda is like the Jabulani
- Revolutionary Panel Design: While traditional soccer balls use 32 panels, the Jabulani has eight, and the Trionda has a groundbreaking four-panel tetrahedron design.
- Unpredictable Flight: Because both balls are nearly perfectly spherical and lack traditional seams, they have been heavily scrutinized by goalkeepers for unpredictable movement, swerving, and dramatic knuckle-ball effects.
Why its different
- Aerodynamic Engineering: The Jabulani’s mostly smooth surface and limited grooves created a low-pressure vacuum behind it, causing drag and erratic swerves. The Trionda features debossed lines and embossed country icons intended to evenly distribute drag for better in-flight stability, even if it still generates wild knuckleballs.
- Design & Feel: The Trionda features a tricolor swirled graphic honoring the 2026 North American hosts (Canada, USA, and Mexico) and is generally described as having a heavier, more cushioned feel than the “pingy” Jabulani.
Some kind folk have tested the ball to see if its good – and not cause any Jabulanish problems at World Cup 2026
